Wales has a fantastic coastline with over 42 beaches including Oxwich bay which has been named the most beautiful beach in the UK, Wales also has 90 mountains and 100 lakes in Snowdonia National park, what could be better than renting a holiday cottage in Wales and being free to explore the country.

In Wales because there is not much distance between the mountains and the sea it means that the weather can change very quickly, you can drive through one village in the rain and when you get to the next one it can be bright sunshine, you can visit Wales in the winter but only if you like snow because you are sure to get some and in autumn there is a lot of rain so the best time to visit wales is in late spring and the middle of summer when the temperature will often be over 20 degrees and because it is so far west it is one of the sunniest places in the UK with over 1,800 hours of sunshine per year.

Everyone worrys about the welsh language but there is no need because although a lot of the signs and TV are in Cymraeg (the welsh language) they are also often in English and most welsh people speak English, although you are sure to meet someone who is being difficult and will speak to you only in Welsh so here is a brief guide to the language.
